A Collaborative Textile Studio

With each collection of scarves we gather and scan personal photographs and found objects. Our toolboxes explode with brushes, dyes, oil pastels, mylar and wax. Manipulating images with our hands and computers, we work collaboratively to create a final design. Our artwork is transferred onto 100% silk crepe de chine through a partnership with a local digital printing firm. Our process is small scale and sustainable. Calica Studio scarves are printed and sewn in Toronto, Canada.

French Coast

A plane ticket was booked with two weeks till departure to the South of France. Umbrellas perched in bleached sands, flowers grew along the roadside and evening skies were spun with cotton candy.

Pressed

We hiked through the trees towards the lake, ciders in hand, carefully picking fresh flowers as we went. Placed between the pages of summer novels, these blooms were pressed and preserved and slowly forgotten in the stories.
